I have to say that one of my favourite places to travel to for a weekend break is London. The capital of England is steeped in history and there are many places to visit. There are attractions for everyone, young and old and in this article I will be writing about some of the one’s that I would recommend people to visit.

Here are my top favourite tourist attractions in London:

1. The London Eye

2. The London Dungeon

3. Madame Tussauds

4. The Tower of London

5. The London Aquarium

6. Kew Gardens

7. Buckingham Palace

8. The Houses of Parliament

9. London Zoo

10. The Imperial War Museum

11. The Science Museum

12. St Paul’s Cathedral

13. The Natural History Museum

14. Hampton Court

15. The Houses of Parliament

I would also recommend people to take a boat trip along the Thames; this gives you a good view of part of the city and is a break from all of the walking.

For children, Legoland is only a short distance away in the famous district of Windsor. My children love Legoland and insist on going back each and every year. Windsor Castle is worth a visit while you are in this area.

London offers ample shopping opportunities with some very famous stores, for example Harrods.

My wife also likes to go to a show in London. They have some of the best shows at different times of the year including; Grease, Cats and Annie. You can not beat a meal at a top restuarant followed by going to a top show.

I hope you have a great time in London.

Windsor castle history

Buckingham Palace, London Eye, my Oyster card, these are some of the best things to do in London. I've seen so many sights and done so much impressive, it's hard for me to choose my best experiences and squeeze in just three days – but that's what I think is the best of the best things to do in London:

Best things to do in London on Day 1: While I'm never in the interior of Buckingham Palace (I did not take the towers of Windsor Castle and Castle Dublin – and me, all the castles essentially the same appearance) as the guard is undoubtedly one of the best things to do in London. Although all the bombs also are organized to show and it's not really the only time the guards change, and the men in red hats with a look of black leather is not only one of the best things to do in London is about something that you can not do in London. Moreover, outside Buckingham Palace is quite impressive. The ceremony was performed to maintain the effective date of the week in 1130 – but the crowds are heavy 11:15.

After that, take a walk down the street from St. James Park. It is an ideal place to observe people – sit on benches near the lake or picnic on the lawn. The animals are friendly and very used to people – food squirrel monkeys, is still nuts one of the best things to do in London.

With just a short walk you can join the Thames. Jump on one of Thames Boat Cruises is one of the best things to do in London and half an hour, you Greenwich. Only a few books of travel in one direction, and once there, everything is free! Architecture in the water is beautiful and is undergoing very few buildings known as the National Theater, the Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe – a play not another one of the best things to do in London.

Lowering the ship in Greenwich, follow the crowd of people in Meridian Hill and the Royal Observatory. The Center also spectacular, and there planetarium shows and other exhibits.

Back to central London, the ship to Tower Bridge. You know when you're there – the bridge is different from the rest, with its magnificent castle-like decorative pillars and baby blue It's right in front of the Tower of London. Between Tower Bridge and Westminster, many restaurants, and until mid-October, you can sit out – One of the best things to do in London – overload heaters is really hot! I could see the whole river lit and all-around Big Ben, the Building Parliament and the London Eye. Looks like a postcard – you really should see the Thames at night.

Best things to do in London Day 2:

Now that you've seen many of the most famous sights of London by water, I suggest we spend a little time shopping – without doubt one of the best things to do in London – there's no better place to shop. Harrods is an attraction itself, and is one of those things you will encounter. This is huge, really huge, and while I was there five or six times, I was not even half of departments. My favorite pet is the United States. Downstairs is the most expensive coffee I've ever seen, with rooms for hot foods to be eaten, but fishmongers, butchers and supermarkets business at home. The bakery smells delicious every time step.

Take the tube from Oxford Street, where some serious quid can be used, and only a few stops down the tube from Oxford Street is my favorite museums in London: British Museum – probably more I can do is to visit London. I just want to say about that before you go is that you must understand that you can not do in a day is impossible. The Museum of London is free! Upon entering the museum, make sure to have a map, it will be easy to choose what shows you want. Most of the museum is divided by country or region and are full of amazing objects of all different time periods. You can literally spend the weekend here and not run out of things to see. London would be great for shopping, know, but Party time! Probably the most famous Piccadilly Circus jumps once night falls. Digital lights and animated billboards adorn downtown buildings and clubs are literally everywhere. The costs are covered dance floors tall and crowded, but one night in Piccadilly is a lot of fun and one of the best things to do in London.

WorldReviwer.com is a travel website with many independent reviews including the Best things to do in London. Why not see the city from the London Eye or visit the world famous Buckingham Palace.

Is it acceptable to use video cameras to Windsor Castle?

I do a project around Windsor College, and was wondering if anyone know if it's OK to take video clips with a video camera at Windsor Castle?

Photography and filming (for private use) are permitted in buildings of the castle. Mobile phones must be switched off in the Flats and the Chapel of St. George.

Queen Mary's Doll House is undoubtedly the most magnificent displays of beauty, detail and creativity of any dollhouse in history. King George V's United Kingdom introduced the household of Queen Mary in 1924 as a gift from the people of England to show future generations that royalty lived during the twentieth century.

Princess Marie-Louise the first to approach the idea of creating a masterpiece by Sir Edwin Lutyens, one of the best architects in England at the time. Adopted by the concept, Lutyens immediately began to design a house that would be worthy of a queen, not the cost savings. I wanted to create a fully furnished miniature home, to be precise to the elements is at Windsor Castle, in detail.

Built at 1:12 and about three and a half feet high, forty dollhouse rooms began to take shape. Lutyens artists and craftsmen employed to work within. To give an idea of the detail and care in these rooms, was built before a lobby with a swirling stairs second floor, a library of walnut bookcases, home office equipped with all modern day amenities, and the Queen room with one bed canopy, the sky painted on the ceiling.

These little details alone would be enough for the Queen Mary Doll's House in miniature one of the most impressive ever created. Sir Lutyens had plans that were more ambitious.

He stressed the need for everything in the house is fully functional. Contracted electricians to do all the work and the lamp light, plumbers to do all the flush toilets and valves open, and artisans, both the elevators stop at all floor. He even gramophone twelfth scale designed to operate as normal when playing.

Sir Lutyens, talented furniture makers of the day, making small replicas of furniture is in Windsor Castle. It had all the cupboards full of canned goods bearing the logos of popular brands have found in kitchen queen. The bedding, curtains, clothing, toys, kindergartens, and carpets created to scale. The basement wine cellar bottles miniature figure Wine labels filled with actual value of a thimble of wine real advertising. The bathroom even had his own roll of toilet paper.

More than one hundred and sixty-ten writers, poet Robert Bridges of Rudyard Kipling, was instructed to write miniature books for the library. Always known watercolor artists and art for the dolls house Queen Mary.

While building the project considerably, Sir Lutyens chaired a doll house "committee to oversee all these artists, writers and companies willing to lend its services to its vision.

No detail has been overlooked. There were Royal Doulton and Wedgewood china, a machine Singer sewing utensils to clothing, ornaments, towels, stamp albums, and a little snail crawling on a leaf in the garden.
At the end of the project, about fifteen hundred people participated in the creation of the dollhouse. Queen Mary has been a great joy when he saw his gift, and stated that the house shared by all so that people can see and appreciate the genius of the English people.

He made his first appearance in 1924 in the British Empire Exhibition, which attracts two million visitors before being transferred to Windsor Castle. Here, the doll house is today for anyone to see and enjoy.

The majestic stag monitors his harem of females who establish their safety. The silence is interrupted by the sound of hooves crashing in the trees. The deer are frightened and run. The real game is prepared with the game master William the Conqueror in the head. Time is of the eleventh century and the place is Windlesora – now known as Castle of Windsor.

Since the Norman kings built their defenses here, was the abode of kings and queens of England. For some, including Charles1, HenryV111 and Jane Seymour, who is their last home.
Windsor Castle is the oldest castle residence still in use today. When Her Majesty is in the royal residence of the standard is raised. When you are out of town Union Jack is hoisted.

Parts of the castle are open to the public, including: —

Queen Mary's Dolls House
This remarkable love was made for Queen Mary in 1924. Everything in the house works – even the pipes. Many famous people have contributed to the design and articles inside. The library contains original leather bound books. The cars in the garage can operate at 20,000 miles per gallon. You are asked if a child has already played this masterpiece!

Eton College
About a mile north of Windsor Castle is the famous Eton College founded by HenryV1 in1440. Originally built to educate poor students, is one of the world's most exclusive schools. Lists of current and former students read like a who's who of people who have shaped and continue to shape the world we live in

Guildhall
Sir Thomas Fitz originally designed the building, but died before its completion. The famous architect Sir Christopher Wren has continued his work and completed in 1689. From here you can watch the changing of the guard completely in red tunics and skin rugs bear. Inside you can admire a collection of royal portraits dating back to Elizabeth 1. and a series of dioramas representing historical events and places.
Interestingly, columns, which appear to support the roof of this building, in fact, have no weight at all. More recently, photos of the Hotel de Ville is widespread in the world, as was the scene of a civil marriage of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Cavalry Museum
Anyone interested in all things military will love this collection. Exhibition date of the seventeenth century to today, including weapons and models of combat armor.

Great Park Windsor
"The Long Walk ',' Savill Gardens and Virginia Water" are highlights of this park covers 4,800 hectares. The Long Walk covers a distance of 3 miles from the castle to the statue of George 111 a horse. Savill Gardens offers a spectacular array of plants and flowers all year. You can stop and buy your favorite plant or something to eat in the restaurant. To the south is Virginia Water – a large lake surrounded by beautiful gardens and lawns growing. Beware of some curiosities, whose 100-totem foot.

A visit to Royal Windsor will take you on a journey through a thousand years of English history and tradition. It is a place that continues to inspire and excite imagination. If you visit the Royal Windsor left with a thirst to know more after a six-mile journey will take Runnymede where the Magna Carta was signed, laying the foundations of our democracies today.

Windsor is also home to Morgan http://www.morgancrucible.com Crucible, probably now the most successful engineering in the world. Ceramics and carbon divisions offer a wide range of materials, products and services to customers worldwide.

Windsor castle hours

I recently spent 10 days in London with my fabulous husband, visiting my daughter who lives there.

The trip went very suddenly. While on the phone with our daughter one morning, talked about his upcoming trip to Greece and how he had not felt any dog. I immediately hung up the phone and ask her my husband if he had a flat in London for a week in exchange for dog sitting. He said his book tickets, la! So a week later, we left.

We arrived in London on Friday night, our daughter had organized a dinner at the Gaucho, which offers a stunning view of Tower Bridge and a delicious meal.

On Sunday, my daughter and her boyfriend, the way to Greece.

Husband and I spent the next few days the site and across London.

We have had a tour City bus and a boat trip. We visited the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, Churchill's war rooms. We walked around Portobello Market, Flower Market, Hyde Park and Green Park. We even made an excursion to Windsor Castle with children on his return from Greece!

Somewhere in all this site seeing and walking, and travel on the subway I thought I was enjoying it so easy being a tourist. As a tourist, I had to be where for a time, enjoying the sites, history, and all I could take during my brief visit.

Then the great epiphany fail … we are all here for the tourists visiting this place we call Earth? How different would your life be if every day was approved sites and splendor this place? Could we live our lives with more passion if we admit that we are here only for a short period of time? Do we try to take every day? Do we determine our purpose, to live each day with this intention?

Epiphany In this state of mind was my goal became clear to make a positive contribution to all the people I know. I can do not only in my professional capacity, but also become members of love, care and compassion my family, friends, associates and others who cross my path.

Even if our daily life, we have bills to pay, deadlines to meet, health problems, family problems, and many other facts of life by distracting us, I encourage you to act like a tourist … search, (tourists are always looking up!) see the sites, feel the air, embrace the beauty of this beautiful place! In doing so, you may very well ignite their passion, discover your purpose, and at least you'll feel more alive!

As the saying goes, "The past is history the future a mystery and today is a gift, that's why they call it!

Legoland castle

Legoland castle

On a recent trip to San Diego with the girl of my five years of age, I have been a pleasant surprise in the form of Legoland California. IÂ've knows that the theme park Legoland for several years and, on the recommendation of one of my good friends, decided to abandon the attempt. What a good decision is that for every family with children under ten years, one day at Legoland shouldnÂ't is something missing. I took more pictures of my daughter during our visit to Legoland California than I did at Disneyland and the San Diego Wild Animal Park combined.

Legoland is divided into eight different zones, each with its own theme, with rides and attractions that are on a scale of Lego. And when I say scale of Lego, I mean that almost everything in the park makes these famous toy blocks that many of us plays with growth. The best way to describe what to expect from a visit to Legoland is playing a game of Lego Star Wars with his son in his favorite video game system. Experience is something children love only with more than enough fun for adults. One of the main objectives of a theme park, Legoland, which performs well, is to create sites for parents and children can enjoy together.

Legoland main thing that separates most of the other theme parks is that most attractions offer children practical experience. There were several times during our visit I had to cut my daughter what had been done to achieve our goal of seeing the entire park. Each activity that participated could have easily held today if we let them. ITA is not difficult to see why when the child can play with thousands of Lego blocks, shoot water gun pirate ships, dig for dinosaur fossils, drive Lego cars and race in areas of great playground. The most characteristic Only Legoland, which I found interesting and intelligent, were the Lego play areas that were close to many walks. It has children playing with Legos, while the parents waiting in line. Anyone who has ever stood in line with their young children to Disneyland or Six Flags would understand that it is a great idea.

As mentioned above, Legoland, offers numerous opportunities for picture taking, because the attractions are, for the most part, interesting and easy to approach closely. A park area is a must is Miniland USA. It has built Lego models of famous structures like the Washington Monument, the Statue of Liberty, the Bridge Golden Gate, and many others. The model of From the White House, even included a presidential motorcade rolling motion in a replica of Pennsylvania Avenue. Favorite parts Legoland my daughter is the dragon and the corners Rollercoaster playground are located in the Kingdom of Caballero. As for me, I resist the temptation couldnÂ't to test my ability as a firefighter at the Fire Academy Fun Town. This trip reminded me of the physical difficulties Todai you see on reality television. Of course, I do not let my daughter help me drive the fire truck just a little.

Overall, our trip to Legoland California was a fun-filled day to be together for the family. The marketing of Legoland, even if they, not far, is excellent, as it accurately portrays the emotion that was in the park. During his long and illustrious 900 years, href rel = "nofollow" = "http://www.guide-to-castles-of-europe.com/tower-of-london.html"> Tower of London has become one of the most haunted places in Britain. He has been home to beheadings and murders, torture and executions, all to be a prison to Queens and even noble.

A. Thomas Becket is "the first report of a sighting of a ghost in the Tower of London."

When building a wall in the 13th century, Thomas appeared apparently unhappy with the construction and said reducing the ruined wall, with a strike of his cross. IIIa grandfather Henry was responsible for the death of Thomas Becket, so Henry III wasted no time building a chapel in the Tower of London, and called for the Archbishop.

This must have satisfied Ghost Thomasa 'because there was no more interruptions during the construction of the wall.

The Bloody Tower was the scene of the infamous disappearance the two princes, Edward V (12) and Richard Duke of York (10), which is believed to have been murdered in 1483, probably in the order of the Duke of Gloucestershire, to be crowned Richard III.

According to one story, guards in the late 15th century, passing the Bloody Tower, saw the shadow of two small figures gliding stairs still have the white shirts that night on the night she disappeared.
They sat in silence, holding hands, before disappearing into the stones of the Bloody Tower.

These figures have been identified as the ghosts of the two princes. In 1674, workmen found a chest containing the skeletons of two young children, who were supposed they were the remains of the princess, and received a royal burial not long afterwards.
History princes remains to this day a heartbreaking story. They are "between most moving minds "in the Tower of London.

The most persistent ghost in the Tower of London is the ghost of Queen Anne Boleyn.

The king, Henry VIII, after learning that the baby she carried for nine months was a boy and still born, accused by her of infidelity.

She was taken to the Tower Green and beheaded May 19, 1536.
Queen Anne appears near the home in Queens, near where their implementation have been made. It can be seen marching in a procession Ghost of Lords and Ladies down the aisle of the Chapel Royal of St. Peter ad links.

Floating in the lane to his final resting place. Queen Anne is buried under the altar of the Chapel. His decapitated body was also seen walking the halls of the Tower.

Sir Walter Raleigh lived quite comfortable compared with others who were imprisoned in the walls of the Bloody Tower.
His "rooms" are still furnished as they were in the 16th century, and you can see when visiting Tower today.
He was executed by James I, and was seen looking exactly as he did in his portrait hanging in the Bloody Tower.

I hope you enjoyed the PT1 Ghosts of the Tower of London. In Pt2 discover what happens to Catherine Howard and Lady Jane Gray, and the horrible end of the Countess of Salisbury.
