Who would have thought that there was a similarity between a motorcycle and a horse …!! Admittedly a motorcycle has an ECU of a brain and an engine for a heart with the pilot in full control of the direction of travel. A horse, on the other hand, has a real brain and a real heart. The brain can sometimes disagree with the pilot in many ways with respect to the direction of travel.

Why the comparison? Well, I was recently in London and was fortunate the opportunity to visit the cavalry barracks in the home of Knightsbridge in London's West End. The regiment Invitation was extended to me by B Regimental Corporal Major Spencer, Taylor, Esq. As part of a very traditional view of succession of custody between the two divisions of the regiment of bodyguards and the Blues and Royals. Upon arrival, I was very impressed to see a lot of motorcycles parked on campus. In a small study to explain why so many machines were in a place is necessary.

The answer was … Of course. It was mostly the main reasons for the different machines, Harley Davidson, Yamaha R6, Honda Fireblade throughout and Vespa. Everyone was there. I had the opportunity to see the changing of the guard taking place and then able to identify Rupert Hackman, AKA Gene to his friends, a template out of district Mounted Regiment Household Cavalry.

Rupert Walking a Yamaha R6 at work, then riding a beautiful horse black horse standing about 16.5 hands down his day job.

AABikes: Q: How long have you been riding?

Gen: 2 years.

AABikes: Dime travel time for how long and where?

Gene: I come from where most of the kids coming down the M4 Windsor, about 25 km. It is 40 minutes in a car around 6 am, however, at night, can last up to 3 hours depending on traffic. That's why bicycling. I can do at any time.

AABikes: Why a different bike here in the UK a car trip?

Gene: Well, first of all, we can filter traffic from here. Do not miss all the jams traffic only here at home. Also, do not pay £ 8.00 (depending on exchange rates may total U.S. $ 16.00) congestion charge on a bike, and save a fortune in gasoline. All I get wet when it rains all day.

AABikes: Have you seen a relief in traffic as the cost of congestion has been implemented?

Gene: No, of course not. Everything he has done is pushed before the peak hour from 7am. It comes instead at 7 am and most people stay up late to work after 6 pm when it is completed. It has made travel home on Friday afternoon more nice, because I think most people are multiplying in more hours per week and work at home on Friday.

AABikes: Why did you choose to travel on a R6?

Gene: Farrier recommendation I bought my bike off parents. I did a test shortcut that allowed me to ride any size bike after passing my test, I jumped on the R6 and loved all that that implies.

AABikes: Are there similarities between your bike and the way we do transport – a horse?

Gene: Believe – Yes or no! I just passed my test 2 years ago and balance and direction of the horse went straight on the bike. You take a horse with legs and the use of his legs, knees and body to steer a bike. The amount the district that I did helped me learn to ride a bike, I also thought that had nothing to worry that I could ride, but a horse has a brain and at times may disagree with where you want it to go, I have this problem with the bike. On the other hand, a horse has four legs and can not lower side in any corner.

AABikes: Has taken his R6 on a track?

Gene: No, but I do not know if he became an addict myself, I was on the carousel horses, but not that count?

As you can see, Gene thinks that his skills do not enjoy riding, when it passed the test bike!

I would like to thank the main regiment out Spencer Taylor B, for the invitation, and Rupert Hackman give me your time when you sat in the dining room of the NCO. Changing of the Guard is one of the most impressive traditions of the British Army.
